I'm Kerry — the floor sitter.
Come sit with me.
It's where the good bits land.
I run a one-woman creative practice from Western Australia called Breakfast on the Floor — brand, web and digital strategy for values-driven small businesses. The ones who have something real to say and need a partner who can help them say it clearly.
My background runs across operations, counselling and digital — which is a polite way of saying I've been around. The counselling part matters more than it sounds. It's why I start every project with a conversation, not a pitch. Why I ask what experience you want people to have before I open a single design file.
I'm not interested in volume. I'm interested in fit. The right clients, not the most clients.
Where the name comes from
January 2020. I'm on the floor eating breakfast with my two small children while they potter around a toy kitchen. My husband is just about to leave for six months in a few hours. The world is about to learn what a pandemic feels like. I am scared, overwhelmed — and, somehow, calm. Present. Grounded inside the chaos. This deep knowing that if all else fails, if everything gets to be too overwhelming, I can sit on the floor eating breakfast while the kids play — bring things back to basics.
That's the whole idea. The chaos doesn't go away. You get grounded inside it. That's what I do for the founders I work with — help them sit on the floor for a minute and remember what they're doing this for. breakfast on the floor.
The details
Two decades, and a path that doesn't run in a straight line — administration, operations, project management, counselling and digital, now folded into one practice.
The counselling is the part that matters most. It taught me to listen properly — to hear what someone is really saying underneath what they think they're meant to say.
